Tall Ships Race 2014

Tall Ships Regatta 2014 on Annabel J.

For the first time ever, two English Ports, Falmouth and Greenwich will host one of the biggest international sailing events held solely in British waters.

Up to 30 tall ships from around the world will gather in Falmouth for three days of festivities from 28 - 30 August, before the race starts on 31st.

Tall Ships Race

Whilst in Falmouth you will be able to enjoy a packed schedule of onshore festivities as well as visiting the Tall ships and enjoying live music and a grand Firework display on the evening before the race start. On the day of the race the tall ships will gather for a parade of sail as they pass between the two Tudor castles of Pendennis and St Mawes. The race takes the fleet along the stunning Cornish and Devon coasts, across Lyme Bay, around Portland Bill to the finish line off the Isle of Wight. The ships will then continue in company through the Dover Straights and around into the river Thames and up to the port of Greenwich.

The ships will raft up in Greenwich and the celebrations will begin again.

Imagine sailing along the English Channel on a Bristol Pilot Cutter in company with these amazing tall ships - just like days of old when Bristol Pilot Cutters used to race West to drop a Pilot on these amazing vessels.

Annabel J leaves her home port of Hamble on 25 August to sail west to Falmouth to join the fleet of tall ships.

The race begins on 31 August in Falmouth and the finish is off the Isle of Wight.  From there we cruise in company to finish in Greenwich around 5 September.

On 8 September Annabel J leaves Greenwich to sail for home and will be back in Hamble on 11 September.

You can join us for part or all of the voyage - please see our schedule and prices below.

* Note - For under 25s there is a £200 discount for the Race from Falmouth to Grenwich.
